BOHEMIAN QUEEN

 Trend by Contributor – Dartanya

The king of bohemian dressing the queen 2013 is Yves Saint Laurent. Wide brim hats, caps, gold necklaces, and long gowns swept across the runway. Strikingly haunting and breathtaking the collection held ones attention as Daft Punk pulsed through the sound system.

Skinny trousers, sheer blouses, and vests all paired together gave way to the 70’s with a modern dark twist. Fringed leather skirts twisted and shook down the catwalk. This was Hedi Slimane’s debut collection for YSL and the reviews have been mixed. I thought her message was strong; I am doing this my way and modernized bohemian is wandering for a home in your closet. And I have just the spot for it!

Taking cues from falls presentations spring is flooded with bohemian craze and Gypsy love. Dolce & Gabbana, Etro, Jean Paul Gaultier, Ralph Lauren and Tory Burch just to name a few.

Tory Burch brought a sweet light bohemian praire look
to her spring runway. Wheat printed silk frocks, beaded maxi dresses, raw fringe jackets, mirror printed tops and long modest skirts were a delightful treat of boho sheek meets the American girl.

Eyelet dresses with wooden jewelry were so light and lovely. Very simple classic silhouettes embellished in the right way. Models adorned with natural makeup and long loose braids were perfect for the crisp clean collection.
