Simone Rocha

Simone Rocha was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1986. As the daughter of designer John Rocha she decided to follow her father’s footsteps and in 2008 Simone graduated with a BA in Fashion from The National College of Art and Design in Dublin continuing in 2010 to graduate from the acclaimed Fashion MA at Central Saint Martin’s College, London Simone debuted at London Fashion Week, showing her SS and FW11 collections on schedule with Fashion East.

Simone’s collections have generated great press recognition and gained her some of the most prestigious stockists in the world including Dover Street Market in London, Colette in Paris and 10 Corso Como in Milan.

September 2011 saw Simone launch a capsule collection for Topshop, and Simone presented her S/S12 collection as a solo catwalk show during London Fashion Week.

Her FW12 collection was shown at Somerset House during London Fashion Week to critical acclaim and was one of the most talked-about collections. The fashion world fell in love with the girlish innocence of her white lace dresses, knitted skirts, preppy collars and flat shoes.

Fall/Winter 2012

Her latest collection for Spring/Summer 2013 once again reminded a global industry why the city counts itself as a leader in cultivating fresh talent and breeding new ideas in design. Playing with new notions of femininity, through this collection Rocha explored the crystalline colours of the season with effervescent yellows and pinks amid a blizzard of crisp, sun bleached lace. The ladylike air of prim collars, signature sheer paneling, and the schoolgirl sensibility were all present as was the much as the beloved perspex shoe. All white looks transitioned into gold and neon, cut slim or voluminous; the mix of textures tied everything together.
