About the Make-up Artist

Gucci Westman’s story is just another teenage rebellion. “When I was thirteen my mom didn’t let me wear any makeup. That made me want to wear it even more! I’d pile it on,” she says. “In retrospect, it probably wasn’t the best look.”

Westman is a devoted celebrity makeup artist for Drew Barrymore and Natalie Portman! She says that she has refined her techniques. Now the international artistic director for Lancome, Westman travels the globe in search for inspiration. Gucci Westman specifically looks for new runway looks and makeup products. “It’s a pretty amazing job,” she admits. “I get to see the world and play with cosmetics—what could be better?”

Gucci Westman creates dazzling looks for celebrities like Kate Winslet, Jennifer Connelley, Julianne Moore, Drew Barrymore, Gwyneth Paltrow and Cameron Diaz, creating memorable front covers for American Vogue, W, Harper’s Bazaar, Another Magazine and Vanity Fair. Westman works regularly with photographers Annie Leibovitz, Patrick Demarchelier, Mario Testino, Michael Thompson, and Peter Lindbergh.

Westman’s makeup looks have also walked the runways for Nina Ricci, Proenza Schouler, Behnaz Sarafpour, Thakoon, Peter Som, Carolina Herrera, Bill Blass, and Vera Wang. She has worked on campaigns for Oscar de la Renta, Missoni, Donna Karan, Estée Lauder, Gap, and Ralph Lauren.
