Wedding Bliss

The smell of flowers is in the air and wedding season is upon us again. I have already been invited to four weddings this spring and summer. The excitement is in the air and bells are ringing. If you’re a blushing bride looking to plan your wedding for spring or summer 2014 then read on. The non-traditional bride is walking down the aisle. Spring/Summer 2014 collections are not just showing traditional whites and creams. Thats right, light blues, pinks, black and neutral gowns are having their big day. Every little girl dreams of her wedding day and the dress she will walk down the aisle wearing.

Oscar De La Renta’s 2014 collection showcased an astonishing white tulle gown with touches of baby blue tulle and flowers. Below Oscar also dazzled us with this baby pink tulle gown with white lace detailing. The beautiful pink gown is very girly. Awe so sweet and pretty that women would love this candyland dream. His collections also had some gorgeous traditional gowns, something for every bride. Ranging from vintage 50’s Grace Kelly lace gowns, modern peplum mermaid style gowns, elegant slinky flattering dresses and my fave non-traditional tulle gown above.
The designer Monique Lhuiller’s collection also offered dresses non-traditional gowns in a light blush and beige.

When it comes to wedding dresses everyone knows the name Vera Wang and she brought a powerful black and white collection to the runway. The show started with traditional white ivory v-neck silk crepe, mermaid tail gown, followed by a white ivory strapless, mermaid gown, proceeded by a third ivory chantilly lace gown. Then came the darkness and the suspense. This is the edgiest bridal collection Ms. Wang has ever showed and she has pushed the bridal doors open before, remember her fiery red collection last season.

Models wore full length leather gloves paired with bold black and white gowns. “Vera has described this line as her ode to sensuality, structure and modernity.” Many different shapes of silhouettes, fabrics and textures were in the collection. Below black and white lace bodice with an organza ball gown stole the hearts of many a women across the world.

If your big day is close on the horizon or still a childhood fairy tale choose the dress of your dreams. It is your special day to cherish no matter what style of gown you choose, traditional, non-traditional or new age make it your own with personality and love.
