Light Hearted

Trend by Contributor – Dartanya

Natural light colors seem to have found their way onto the Fall 2013, colors such as beige, white, off white, pastel pinks and barely there nudes. Lovely and daintily visible; yet peaceful and light hearted seems to be the new trend. Designers Rodarte, Chanel, Rosanda-Ilincic, Bluemarine, Chloe and many others are following this trend. Below Chanel Couture Fall 2013 white and pastel pink feathers walk down a dreamy forest runway.

Chloe’s pre Fall exhibit was not quite as whimsical as Chanel and was more wearable with mod sixties rock flare behind designer Clare Waight Keller’s inspiration. She paired cream colors and light blues together in a very feminine yet masculine under tone. Beige honey comb shirts paired nicely with off white slim fit pants.

Dresses with unique shapes and touches of color layered upon the beige foundation of the dress. Chloe also had prints that added a little touch of fun to the collection.

It seems the darker colors associated with fall have been exiled and a more lighter fall has begun. Designer Roksanda Ilinci stated, “I wanted to have a breath of spring fresh air and break with tradition”. We can see from the Fall runway he is not alone in an effort to move away from the same old way of thinking.

The show began with a diamond print soft pastel pink knit dress, many more dresses would follow with pop colors of orange, mint and burgundy mixed into the beiges, nudes, pastel orange and pinks.

Rodarte’s models had very natural makeup and eccentric bright colored hair. Laura Mulleavy and sister Kate’s presentation was inspired by their childhood and growing up in Santa Cruz.
The collection had light pastel pink jackets, dresses, shirts and skirts, however, this collection was not just light colors. They also incorporated blacks and tie dye dresses which was quite an odd mix. Light, heavy and bohemian all rolled down the runway. My favorite pieces was the light pastel pieces and the cut-out tiered cocktail dresses.

The great news about this trend is that you can pull in some of your pastel spring pieces you have already purchased and mix them into your fall wardrobe.

Dreamy colors that make a girl happy to see the snow because she is dreaming of spring and looks so beautiful no matter the season. Have fun in pastel land and remember we are breaking tradition this Fall; my fashion followers.
